My working life started out in the City in an investment team for a large bank. Looking for something more I went to work for Social Services for some years. I worked in a special needs unit, and with young people with autism, and other disabilities. After this I worked in a hostel for the homeless and volunteered with the street teams. Later I joined KCC spending the next few years working in the education system. After experiencing the transformative power of counselling for myself I decided to have a complete career change and spent the next five years studying to become a counsellor...
I currently divide my time working in private practice and part time for a charity, which is a well established local counselling service.
How I work
Within an empathic, accepting and non-judgemental relationship, we will work together at your pace to recognise your strengths, creativity and choices.
I offer a place for you to pause; make sense of where you are, to say what's going on & be heard. I am also informed that ‘kindness’ is my superpower.
Working with anxiety, stress, low mood, life/relationship issues, addiction, trauma, self-harm, abuse & loss. I believe in hope, possibility and that everyone has the power to change. I believe that there is always a choice; or another way.
I work with adults, and young people irrespective of religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, race or nationality.
